New Recycling Laws: Are You Compliant? Watch Now to Find Out

What is Simpler Recycling?
The UK government has recently announced the 'Simpler Recycling' legislation, which will apply to businesses with 10 or more full-time employees. This new regulation will come into effect on 31st March 2025.
These changes aim to simplify processes and boost recycling rates across the country. So, to help you prepare, here’s what you need to know about the upcoming changes and how they may affect your business operations.
How will this affect my business?
31st March 2025
UK businesses with 10 or more full-time employees must separate and recycle the following materials:
- Plastic
- Metal (cans, tins and foil)
- Cartons & tetrapaks
- Paper and cardboard
- Glass
- Food waste
31 March 2027
Micro firms (businesses with less that 10 full-time employees) must implement the above changes.
All businesses will have to segregate plastic film for collection.
How can I prepare?
Through a four-container system, many businesses have achieved Simpler Recycling compliance early, with each waste type collected as a separate stream:
- Dry Mixed Recycling
- Food Waste
- Glass Waste
- General Waste
Our team of experts is ready to guide you through the legislation, whether through a phone consultation or a free site visit and waste audit, to ensure that you're compliant from day one. Our variety of container sizes and collection options have ensured our clients a seamless transition as new regulations take effect.
