Ellgia Recycling has acquired J.E. Churchill (Plant) Limited (trading as Bell Waste Control) and the assets and goodwill of Thompson Waste Recycling Limited based in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire.

Skip Hire North Lincolnshire

Bell Waste Control, formerly J.P. Bell Skip Hire (established in 1964), was purchased by former owner and chairman, the late John Churchill, in 1996. In the early stages of the business, he was actively involved in many aspects of materials handling, transportation, bulk earthworks, plant hire, demolition and recycling; more recently, the focus has shifted to waste management and recycling services.

Thompson Waste have been a long established business operating in Lincolnshire area for many years and in recent times the former owners have faced difficult trading conditions and opted to put the company into administration, since then they have progressed exceptionally well.

Ellgia Recycling purchased the assets and goodwill of Thompson Waste Recycling Limited and
the combined businesses which will trade under the Bell Waste control name will become one of North Lincolnshire`s largest recycling companies, they will handle in the region of 2000 tonnes of general waste, paper, plastic, cardboard and construction waste per week across Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire.

Steve Crook, managing director of Ellgia Recycling commented “Bell Waste control is a long established business with a strong brand in the Lincolnshire area and we are delighted that they are now part of the Ellgia group of companies.

With the additional acquisition of Thompson Waste Recycling it truly cements our presence in the Lincolnshire area and it provides us with an increased coverage area, facilities, capacity and enhanced service options which can benefit all our customers new and old.

We are a genuine alterative to the major companies by offering the full range of waste and recycling services, whilst still having the more personable feel an independent company can bring.”

EY LLP advised the executors of the estate of John Churchill on the sale of Bell Waste Control.
