Ellgia Recycling Ranks in Top 100 Firms in Cambridgeshire

The Top 100 Companies is conducted annually by Grant Thornton and analyses the financial performance of the county’s leading privately owned companies. This provides a yardstick against which the county can assess its economic performance and businesses can benchmark themselves against their peers.

It is clear from the report that business in Cambridgeshire is continuing it’s growth story with further year on year increases in both turnover and profit at 6% and 10% respectively. However, growth rates have slowed since 2018 and this, coupled with a reduction in borrowing and a strengthening balance sheet, suggests a feeling of caution among many.

… there is no need for despondency because overall, Cambridgeshire Limited has a strengthening balance sheet. This shows businesses in the county are well positioned for any further uncertainty in 2020 and this is reflective of the positive conversations I am having with my clients across the county

Hazel Platt, Head of Tac for Grant Thornton
